Wine in the Kitchen™ Rules for a Great Evening

Have fun! This is your night together, so remember this is all about having a great time. Give each wine a chance. Just like people, give each glass the opportunity to make a first impression. Remember there is no right or wrong answer. Trust your nose and palate. Taste and Talk. Wine is best when enjoyed in good company, so share your thoughts with each other on what you think about each wine. Make a note. It is hard to remember all the wines you are tasting, so try to get into the good habit of making a note on each to ensure you will remember the wine when you want to have it again.

Be safe! Have a plan in place before your evening begins to ensure that everyone will arrive home safe and sound.

What is included in your Kit
To make your evening as easy as possible, your kit includes the following items:

  • Pink Hat Box – This is a great place to keep the contents together so they are easy to find when you host future episodes of the Wine in the Kitchen series.
  • Shopping Lists – Wine and food shopping lists have been included in your kit. This will allow you to describe exactly what wine styles you are looking for at your local wine boutique. The suggested food styles to serve during the evening will go well with the wine styles for this tasting.
  • DVD – This DVD has been thoughtfully produced to lead you through your own private professional wine lesson and tasting in a fun and entertaining way.
  • 6 Wine Bags with buttons numbered 1 to 6 – These bags will allow you to cover the wines so that you will taste them blind. The bags are numbered to make it easy for you to set up the wine tasting in the correct order.
  • Aroma and Colour Poster – This poster was designed to give you a place to start from in regards to describing the many different colours, aromas and flavours in the wines you will taste.
  • Magnet – To hold the Aroma and Colour poster on the fridge.
  • Pad of Tasting Sheets – Making a quick note on each wine will help you remember what you thought about them. This is a great habit to get into. Remember there is no wrong answer so have fun, discuss with your group and write down a few key thoughts under each heading.
  • 10 WG Pencils
  • Hostess letter and Host Guide booklet
