This week on WG TV Erin shares hints and tips on how to build the perfect ice bucket for chilling wine.
The Fourth Day of Christmas
On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me:
Four calling birds, Three French hens, Two turtle doves, And a partridge in a pear tree.
Amarone, Italy and dark chololate truffles
For the fourth day of Christmas I thought something decadent would be fitting and I so I have chosen dark chocolate truffles and Amarone to enjoy as we continue our count down to Christmas.
Amarone is a wine from the Veneto region in Italy which is located close to the city of Venice. Amarone is made from grapes that have been picked and then allowed to dry before they are pressed allowing the sugars in the grapes more concentrated. Amarone is a full bodied, rich red wine that is fermented to dryness but because of the high sugar amount in the grapes will have a sweet under-note much like dark chocolate covered cherries. The dark chocolate truffles paired with a glass of Amarone will be a perfect pairing to sit and enjoy as you go over who is left to shop for on your holiday list.
