This week on WG TV Erin shares hints and tips on how to build the perfect ice bucket for chilling wine.
Q & A
Q. How will I know which wines to buy?
A. Your kit includes a wine shopping list that has been carefully written by Erin to make choosing the wine styles needed for your evening as easy as possible. You will be shopping for specific wine styles and not specific brands.
Q. I don’t know much about wine. Is the Basics of Wine episode good for beginners?
A. The Basics of Wine episode is a great place for you to start and will cover the topics of chemistry, history and the basics of how to taste wine like a pro. There is something for every level of wine lover in this episode.
Q. I’ve already read a fair bit about wine and want to host a wine tasting for my friends. Is there anything left to me to learn in this kit?
A. The Basics of Wine kit has been designed to help you host a fun evening for wine enthusiasts of all levels. This evening covers the topics of wine history, chemistry, key wine lingo and of course the professional steps of how to taste wine.
While some of the information within the episode I am sure you would have read about already, I think you will find the lesson both entertaining and educational as you watch with your friends and learn along with them. Like any topic there is always something new to learn. This episode also teaches the tasting method that we will be using in future episodes so that everyone can follow along with confidence.
Q. Are there going to be other episodes of Wine in the Kitchen™?
A. The creative crew at Wine in the Kitchen™ is constantly working on new episode ideas. The topic of wine is so vast that you can look forward to many more fun episodes within this series to continue your wine adventures. Look for Bubbles 101 and Wine and Chocolate coming soon to your kitchen!
Q. How many people should I invite to my Wine in the Kitchen tasting?
A. You can invite as many people that you can fit into your kitchen. But, in all seriousness, you can get around 18 – 20 sample sized pours from one bottle of wine. Once your group is larger than that it is important to keep in mind that you will need to purchase two bottles of each style to ensure everyone has some wine in their glass.
The kit includes 10 WG pencils and more than enough tasting sheets for a group of 10. If your group is larger than this you can always order more tasting sheets and kit components from the Wine in the Kitchen web site.
